I worked as a Design Engineer in Dubai for several years, where my role spanned the full lifecycle of machine-building. I handled tasks including technical documentation and client consulting to representing the firm at trade shows — and ultimately, designing and managing the production of the machines themselves.

These ranged from large-scale multi-team assemblies like stacker cranes and mezzanine structures, to highly specialized, client-specific solutions tailored for unique operational needs.

It was rewarding work — the problem-solving was addictive. The timelines were tight, and I definitely had my tough days. But I learned a lot, and I’ve come to appreciate how everything around us was once made and designed by someone.

Machines touch everything we touch. Every object around me was shaped by someone's decisions.

My time as an engineer changed how I see things. It taught me that nothing is neutral — every object is imbued with intention. A natural fit for my transition into Human-Technology Interaction.
